Privacy Policy

Rewordify ("the app", "we", "us") is a macOS utility that rewrites text you choose. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. Our guiding principle is simple: your text stays on your Mac by default.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. Rewordify has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no user accounts. We never see the text you rewrite.

2. How your text is processed

3. Clipboard access

Rewordify reads the clipboard only when you trigger a rewrite, to pre‑fill the text box. It writes to the clipboard only when you tap "Copy". Your original clipboard is never changed until you choose to copy a result.

4. Accessibility permission

The app requests macOS Accessibility permission solely to detect the double‑Space keyboard shortcut that opens the rewrite window. No keystrokes are recorded, logged, or transmitted anywhere.

5. API keys

If you add an OpenAI or Claude API key, it is stored securely in the macOS Keychain on your device and is used only to communicate directly with that provider. We never receive or transmit your keys to our servers — we do not operate any servers.

6. Subscriptions

Purchases and the free trial are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Children

Rewordify is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
